The palate opens with lovely lush fruit and reveals a rich yet refined character. The ageing process has been perfectly managed and the silky tannins melt into a soft, velvety texture with wonderful persistence accompanied by spicy chocolatey notes. |

The estate and the wine |
|
|
In 2004, two great talents from our wine region launched their own range of wines. The partnership of these two enthusiasts, under the name "Dauvergne Ranvier", was soon causing a stir. Well established in the Rhône Valley, whose secrets it knows well, the Dauvergne Ranvier is dedicated to excellence. Specialised in the selection of wines from the finest terroirs, it shares its savoir-faire and expertise with carefully-chosen winegrowers across the region. |

Part of their single vineyard selections, this Côte Rôtie Face Sud comes from a small steep slope planted with Syrah. Thanks to a gentle vinification, short ageing and bottling without filtration, this is a Syrah at its very best, without artifice. It shows honest, rich and well-crafted fruit that explodes on the palate in a warm style set off by the silky tannins. It is best decanted in order to fully appreciate the lovely soft character of this exceptional bottle of wine. |

Harvesting by hand, grapes from a small, south-facing vertiginous plot sitting between Ampuis and Saint-Cyr-sur-le-Rhône, gentle vinification, just over 12 months' ageing, bottled non-filtered. |
