The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Le Clos de la Barthassade is raising the bar for Languedoc wines. Over recent vintages, Hélène and Guillaume Baron have brought a fresh perspective to the Terrasses du Larzac, producing wines with precision, balance, and remarkable freshness.

Their 13 hectares, located in prime sites across Montpeyroux, Saint-Saturnin, and Jonquières, are farmed biodynamically with meticulous attention to detail. Drawing on Guillaume’s experience in Burgundy with Sylvain Pataille and his time at Trévallon, they create wines that are approachable, vibrant, and driven by a true sense of place.
Wine A blend of Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah, the 2022 Red Terrasses du Larzac Les Gravettes bursts with juicy, sun-kissed aromas, revealing notes of black olive, dried fruit, garrigue, and spice. It exudes a true Mediterranean character, with a generous, vibrant structure that balances richness and freshness beautifully. The palate is dense yet supple, concentrated yet mouthwatering, delivering both finesse and indulgence. With a guaranteed ageing potential of 10 years, it’s a standout choice. A favourite of the Selection Committee, rated 93/100.
