The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A remarkable estate from Saint-Julien, with an exemplary work ethos, Château Branaire-Ducru is one of the jewels of the appellation. Its wines, which combine delicacy and complexity, are some of the best deals of the sector. Their elegance and subtlety have strongly impressed us during the last En-Primeurs campaigns where they stood out compared to many.

In the magnificent 2015 vintage, the Châteaux has asserted its Medoc style and unparalleled elegance. Branaire Ducru’s Haut-Médoc is another of the Châteaux’s labels, hailing from a 3.5 hectare terroir of fine gravel and vinified with the same care as their more famous wine. This Bordeaux of incredible finesse takes on all the best attributes of its elder brother, with the same spirit and quest for purity, balance and finesse.
Wine Faithful to the attributes of this incredible vintage, the 2015 Red Haut-Médoc from Branaire-Ducru is a complex and precise wine, with strong aromas of ripe and juicy fruits. Elegant and delicate, in a perfect Medoc style, it opens on notes of ripe fruit and graphite. Carried by the rather warm climate that defined the vintage, the body is concentrated, with supple tannins that will pair beautifully with red meat dishes such as fine game or a terrine. Rated 16/20 by our Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested. Aged in barrels for about 12 months, following the Grands Crus tradition.
