It perfectly embodies the signature style of the estate—a captivating blend of classic structure, precision, and undeniable charm. This is a bottle ready to be enjoyed now, with no need for further cellaring.

The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine The Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux is an Eldorado of great wines at low prices. And few people know it... This territory, which borders the Saint-Emilion crus and its neighbours, is home to the new recruits of the Bordeaux landscape; it is on these first-rate clay-limestone soils that Nicolas Thienpont, manager of the Pavie Macquin and Larcisse Ducasse crus classés, has set his sights.

Château Alcée benefits from the same care and attention as these great classified growths. The vines, a small enclosure of 6.5 hectares, are located on the plateau, alternating asteriated limestone and red clay.
Wine Opening with juicy, elegant, and deep tannins, the 2016 red Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux Château Alcée delivers a beautiful score, all freshness, and balance. It is an energetic, distinguished wine, carried by a radiant Merlot, ready for the meal, to be discovered today with a poultry or a veal chop.
Vinification Hand harvested. 100% whole bunches. Fermentation in concrete vats, punching down and pumping over. Aged for 16 to 18 months in 225-liter and 500-liter barrels, half of which are renewed each year.
