The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine It's the world's most famous charitable auction! Every year in late November, the Hospices de Beaune welcome a host of connoisseurs, enthusiasts, and professionals who come to assess the new vintage.

In late November 2021, our team of experts traveled to experience and taste the young, budding wines, just a few weeks old, before taking part in the renowned auction.

Our top picks were a Pommard and a Beaune 1er Cru, secured amidst the sound of the gavel, after an intense bidding war. It was essential to entrust these valuable treasures to someone skilled in maturing the wines to their fullest potential.
Who better to oversee the aging of these nectars than the manager of the Hospices herself, Ludivine Griveau, with the assistance of her two partners, Frédéric and Mathieu, within the boutique wine brokerage, Pierre Mayeul Côtes et Climats!
Wine A blend from distinctly different plots to harness the complexity and complementarity of the appellation's terroir, this Pommard showcases the delicacy of its vintage. Upon uncorking, it offers lovely floral notes, followed by a medley of fresh red fruits, reminiscent of strawberries sprinkled with sugar. This freshness continues on the palate, complemented by a firm yet smooth texture, a hint of tangy candy, utmost elegance, and distinguished oak influences. What brilliance!
Vinification Hand-harvested, totally destemmed, punching down and pumping over for 16 days. Aged in new French oak barrels for 17 months.
