The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Founded in 2009 on the slopes of Vergisson and Davayé, Domaine David Bienfait embodies the passion and dedication of this young winemaker. With just 6 hectares, he brings out the full beauty of southern Burgundy, producing wines from Pouilly, Saint-Véran, and Mâcon-Villages.
Wine From limestone-rich hillside vineyards, the 2023 White Saint-Véran Clos des Poncetys is a wonderful showcase of this chalky terroir. The nose is both ripe and floral, with just a hint of oak that’s already beautifully integrated, bringing out a lovely mineral quality. On the palate, it’s everything you’d want in a Saint-Véran—balanced, precise, and finely tuned, with a vibrant acidity that adds just the right amount of lift. This is a wine that’s been crafted with real care and respect for its terroir, and it’ll only get better over the next 6 to 8 years. Rated 92/100 by the Selection Committee.
Vinification Vinification and barrel aging for 7 months, covering 60% of the harvest, with regular bâtonnage.
