The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Highly sought after for its Pinot Noirs, Felton Road is without question one of New Zealand’s most prestigious estates today.

Tucked into the finest sites of Central Otago—a pioneering region for Pinot Noir, first planted back in 1864—the vineyard is farmed biodynamically under the guidance of Blair Walter, an experienced winemaker with a background spanning Australia, California, and Burgundy, and a strong belief in single-parcel vinification.

Central Otago is also the southernmost winegrowing region in the world, with an extreme climate—New Zealand’s coldest and driest—ideal for both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. These unique conditions give rise to truly world-class wines, often compared to Burgundy, and regularly awarded top scores from Parker Wine Advocate.
Vinification Vines planted in 2000, altitude between 200 and 350 metres. Manual harvesting, indigenous yeasts. 20% whole cluster. Transfer by gravity into open vats. Long maceration on the skins. Aged for 13 months in French oak barrels (25% new). Unfined, unfiltered.

Biodynamic certified wine.
