The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Nestled in the heart of the prestigious Côte Rôtie terroir, the Domaine François et Fils produces fine, racy wines of exemplary precision. A confidential production, from just 4 hectares, that is becoming increasingly sought-after these days!
Wine Born in the heart of Côte Brune on vines up to 60 years old, the 2021 Red Côte Rôtie offers an unbeatable price/quality ratio. Its delicate notes of soot, smoke and pure fruit form an extremely appealing nose, supported by discreet, well-managed oak. The palate follows this measured approach, with a smooth, velvety texture and noble breeding. The balance and freshness of the vintage frame everything naturally. Aging for 10 years or more is on the horizon, but you can already appreciate it thanks to the vintage's profile, which makes it more immediately drinkable. A marvel! Rated 94/100 by the Committee.
Vinification This Côte-Rôtie wine comes from 4 plots on the estate: "Bourrier", "Fongeant", "Janet" and "Rozier" located in Côte Brune (north of the appellation).
Hand harvested and partially destemmed. Maceration for 3 to 4 weeks in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. Each plot is vinified separately to adapt harvest date, destemming, extraction and maceration time, and aged for 18 months in 10% new barrels (228l and 400l).
