The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine In the hands of the same family since 1870, Fratelli Alessandria is one of Barolo’s historic estates. Based in the heart of the appellation in Verduno, the estate champions Nebbiolo, balancing its depth with remarkable finesse and elegance.

With just 12 hectares, this sought-after estate remains highly exclusive. Devotees of refined, classically styled wines know its worth—and eagerly await any opportunity to secure its limited releases.
Wine The 2020 Red Barolo Monvigliero is arguably the most emblematic wine of the estate’s style. Sourced from the historic village where the winery is based and produced since 1978, this cult wine continues to captivate with its delicate aromas of ripe fruit, intertwined with rose, dried flowers, pepper, and spice. Its finesse, silky texture, and pronounced mineral character make it a complex, age-worthy Barolo with remarkable depth.
Vinification Hand harvested. Vines averaging 45 years old, covering 1.4 hectares and located in the commune of Verduno. Fermentation and maceration for 22 to 30 days in stainless steel vats at a constant temperature of 29-32°C. Aged for 3 years in Slovenian oak barrels, followed by 2 months in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and then at least 6 months in horizontal bottles.
