The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine 1st Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion, ideally located on the hillside that extends from Ausone, Château La Gaffelière belongs to the elite of Bordeaux's finest estates. Upholding a classic and creamy style, with a beautifully exposed hillside terroir, it produces wines that are refined and full-bodied, surpassing their peers in great vintages.

Having returned to the forefront thanks to a gentle revolution that involved vineyard restoration focused on Cabernet Franc, high density planting, and mass selections, the estate continues to amaze us vintage after vintage.
Wine The 2017 red Saint-Emilion Grand Clos La Gaffelière is expressing itself perfectly today, achieving a good balance between structure and aromatic complexity. Notes of black fruits, licorice, smoke, and oriental spices delight from the nose; the palate continues this pleasing and seductive register, with a beautiful finesse of style supported by good Merlots and, above all, a lot of voluptuousness and elegance. A lovely, very airy bottle, to be enjoyed now or for another 5 to 6 years.
Vinification Harvested by hand. Fermentation in stainless steel vats. Aged for 10 months in one-wine barrels.
