The estate and the wine |

One of the most iconic and distinguished Champagne Houses, Veuve Clicquot has built its signature style on structure, depth, and first-rate terroirs—drawing primarily from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards.
The House took a major leap forward with its new state-of-the-art production site just outside Reims, allowing for ultra-precise winemaking. Ageing in oak barrels and large foudres is overseen with expert precision by Cellar Master Didier Mariotti, who returned to Veuve Clicquot after a stint at Mumm.
In 2015, he unveiled a truly remarkable version of La Grande Dame, the House’s iconic cuvée. Almost entirely Pinot Noir, it captures the essence of the vintage with breathtaking clarity and depth—a masterful expression from one of Champagne’s great names. |

A true Champagne icon, the 2015 La Grande Dame captures the house style with remarkable precision and depth, built on a bold foundation of 90% Pinot Noir. This is the most expressive version to date—an exceptional blend of power, elegance, and finesse. It opens with ripe, intense aromas of white flowers, citrus, and white fruit, underpinned by a beautiful mineral tension. On the palate, it’s both graceful and vibrant, with a long, finely etched structure and a savoury, mouthwatering finish. The Pinot Noir brings undeniable nobility and depth, while the soft, creamy mousse perfectly balances the wine’s generous frame. A structured, vinous Champagne, built to age—and destined for the table. Rated 95/100 by Wine Spectator and 94/100 by the Selection Committee. |
