The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine An exceptional Médoc estate, Château Pichon Baron has produced top Bordeaux cuvées for decades. Rated 3 stars by Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France (RVF) and often regarded as a "super second," this Pauillac commands respect. In recent years, dedicated work in both vineyard and cellar has raised it to a historic level of quality.

Firmly established among Bordeaux’s top 10 estates, Château Pichon Baron delivers grand, sculpted, and precise wines each vintage, showcasing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon.

As the epitome of refined Pauillac, this wine owes its excellence to an unwavering commitment to quality, a level of dedication sustained by few over time. We’re continually captivated by its ability to express the estate’s unique character and terroir, capturing each vintage with grace and skill.
Wine Sourced exclusively from the estate’s own vines, with 80% Merlot, Le Pauillac de Pichon Baron Red 2021 is the château’s third label. Receiving the same meticulous care as the grand vin, vinified by the same team, it is aged for 12 months in barrels, followed by additional time in large wooden vats, it reveals an elegant, fresh, and precise profile. This Pauillac is highly approachable and charming, especially in this cooler vintage, carrying all the hallmark traits of its elder: distinction, purity, and elegance.
Vinification Hand harvested from 27 September to 1 October for the Merlot and from 30 September to 7 October for the Cabernet Sauvignon. Traditional vinification. Aged 100% in one-wine barrels for 12 months, followed by maturation in large wooden vats. Bottled on 15 May 2023.
