The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Patrick Lesec is the kind of talent who consistently creates impeccable cuvées from some of the most exciting terroirs. His secret? Selecting the best lots from top producers, whether in the Rhône Valley or Burgundy.

Having spent time in Burgundy and California, this exceptional wine merchant relies on his sharp intuition to choose the most ambitious wines, blend them, and oversee their aging. With minimal sulfites, no fining or filtration, these wines stay as natural as possible, reflecting the true identity of each vineyard.
Wine From 70- to 85-year-old vines, the 2020 Red Châteauneuf-du-Pape Bargeton by Patrick Lesec delivers depth, intensity, and classic Grenache character. Aromas of ripe stone fruit, sugared strawberries, and cherry compote are layered with warmer notes of cocoa, creating a bold and expressive nose. The palate is broad and concentrated, with velvety tannins and fresh acidity providing balance and structure. A restrained approach to aging allows the purity of the fruit to shine, resulting in a wine that can be enjoyed now or cellared for another decade or more. Rated 93-95/100 by Robert Parker, this is a powerful yet refined Châteauneuf-du-Pape that embodies the best of old-vine Grenache.
Vinification Hand harvested, 100% whole grapes. Maceration for approximately 20 days. Aged 90% in concrete vats and 10% in Burgundy barrels.
