The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A masterful winemaker and a Robert Parker favorite, René Rostaing crafts some of the finest wines in Ampuis, drawn from the most prestigious terroirs of the appellation. His quiet demeanor is matched only by his immense talent, captivating wine lovers worldwide with wines that embody pure, timeless classicism.

With limited production and high demand, his bottles are available only by allocation and always sell out quickly. Whether from the renowned Côte Rôtie and Condrieu appellations or his IGP wines, each bottle reflects unwavering precision and elegance, winning over collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Wine With its bright, expressive aromas, the 2021 IGP Collines Rhodaniennes Les Lézardes Red is a pure, beautifully crafted Syrah from the estate’s young vines. Bursting with notes of red and black berries, gentle spice, and a supple, juicy texture, it’s framed by fine, silky tannins. A pleasure to drink now, with the structure to evolve gracefully over the next few years.
Vinification Hand harvested from young vines on the estate, approximately 60% of the grapes are partially destemmed, fermented in stainless steel vats for 4 to 5 weeks with regular pumping over, aged for just under 11 months in demi-muids, 5 to 10% of which are new.
