The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A winemaker of extraordinary talent and adored by the Parker Guide, René Rostaing is a master of Ampuis, working the finest terroirs of the appellation. His understated nature is matched only by his skill, creating wines of absolute classicism that captivate enthusiasts worldwide.

From the prestigious appellations of Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu to IGP wines, Rostaing’s creations are celebrated for their consistency and undeniable charm. With limited production unable to meet high demand, his wines are available exclusively through allocation.
Wine The 2022 Red Côte-Rôtie La Landonne comes from the estate’s prized 2-hectare holding in the exceptional northern terroir of the appellation—a rarity in itself. A true long-distance runner, this wine reveals its full potential only with time. For now, its aromas of black fruits, smoke, and violet emerge within a deep, firm, and powerful framework. Its finely honed structure and elegant tannins promise a remarkable evolution with patience.
Vinification Vines with an average age of 40 years on a soil composed of schistose sands marked by iron oxide and a higher clay content, in the locality known as ‘La Landonne’.
Harvested by hand. Whole bunch vinification, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, long maceration of around 4 weeks. Aged for 24 months in 228-litre Burgundy barrels and 600-litre demi-muids, with very little new wood. Bottled on the estate after light fining and filtration.
