An undisputed icon of the Loire Valley and awarded 2 stars by the French wine guide RVF, Clos Rougeard is inseparable from the legacy of Charly and Nady Foucault, the visionary artisans behind its success. Pioneers of organic farming as early as the 1970s, the Foucault brothers put the Loire Valley on the world stage, proving the exceptional potential of the Saumur-Champigny terroirs and their ability to produce truly great wines.
For wine lovers, Le Bourg, Le Clos, and Les Poyeux are legendary names—pure expressions of Cabernet Franc on soils of silica, limestone, and sand. Less well known but equally remarkable, a small-production White wine from just 1.5 hectares is crafted on Brézé’s prestigious limestone terroir.
Today, Clos Rougeard is owned by the Bouygues family, who uphold its legacy of excellence, ensuring its wines remain among the most sought-after in the world.
