Wine:

Composed of over 60% Pinot Noir and an elevated proportion of Chardonnay, the 2014 La Grande Année Brut Champagne is a masterful expression of the vintage, shaped by Champagne's late-summer "miracle" that brought the grapes to ideal ripeness. This finely detailed wine reveals a brioche-inflected bouquet, a satin-like texture, and exceptional depth on the palate. While already showing beautifully, it has the balance and structure to age gracefully for another decade. Rated 95/100 by Parker, it stands as a benchmark for the vintage.

Vinification:

Hand-harvested. Blend of 19 crus, mainly from Aÿ and Verzenay for the Pinot Noir and from Chouilly and Oiry for the Chardonnay. Fermented entirely in old oak barrels (20 years old on average), matured in corks for a cellar ageing time more than twice as long as the appellation rules, i.e. over 6 years of maturation on the lees in the cellar.
Dosage: 8 gr/l (Brut).

Temperature:

Serve between 8 and 10°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Scallops, noble fish, poultry creamed with chanterelles or morels, mature cheeses such as Cantal or Salers aged over a year.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2035, and even longer for enthusiasts.

Bollinger sits at the very top of Champagne’s hierarchy, one of the rare elite houses that has remained family-owned. Celebrated by connoisseurs, it has built its reputation on a distinctive and timeless style.

From fermentations in small oak barrels to reserve wines aged in magnums and extended ageing for its cuvées, every detail at Bollinger reflects a commitment to excellence. The result is a collection of deep, complex, and refined champagnes, with Pinot Noir taking centre stage.

With 3 stars in the RVF Guide, Bollinger is a benchmark for gastronomic champagnes. Its iconic cuvées—Grande Année, R.D., and now its single-vineyard releases—are among the most sought-after by collectors around the world.
