A wine rated 93/100 by our Committee!
Wine:
Composed of two-thirds Pinot Noir from the prestigious Grand Cru terroirs of Verzy and Verzenay, the Grand Cru Prologue Champagne reflects the refined, mineral-driven character of these exceptional sites. The nose reveals layered aromas of marzipan, white fruits, and delicate florals. On the palate, its fresh, finely detailed structure is supported by a precise, chalky texture. The balance between tension and depth makes it equally suited to accompany a meal or serve as an aperitif. Rated 93/100 by the Selection Committee.Vinification:
Hand-harvested grapes from Grand Cru terroirs form the foundation of this Champagne. The blend is primarily based on the 2019 vintage, with 31% reserve wines from 2018, 2016, and 2015.34% of the wines are aged in oak barrels, and the cuvée undergoes extended lees aging for added complexity. Disgorgement took place on September 28, 2023. This Extra Brut Champagne is dosed at 1.6g/L, offering a precise, refined expression of the region’s finest terroirs.

Renowned for its prestigious wines and praised by top critics, Domaine Jacques Prieur is a benchmark of French viticulture. Building on its legendary Burgundy estate, the Labruyère family extended its influence in 2012 with the acquisition of 12 hectares of prime vineyards in Champagne.
With a strong focus on Pinot Noir, these vineyards are located in the prized climats of the Montagne de Reims, particularly around Verzenay. Nadine Gublin, a native of Châlons-en-Champagne and winemaker for the renowned Burgundy estate, plays a key role in shaping the Champagne range — a fitting return to her roots, as she had never vinified in her home region until now.
Her approach is defined by precision and restraint, resulting in powerful, finely chiseled Champagnes. Matured to perfection, these wines are driven by the freshness of chalk-rich soils and crafted with minimal to no dosage, emphasizing purity, tension, and depth.
