Domaine de l'Argentière - Côtes du Rhône Villages - Khrôma - Red - 2023

Wine:

The 2023 Red Côtes du Rhône Villages Khrôma is built on a foundation of old-vine Grenache, with Syrah and Cinsault adding depth to its ripe, concentrated profile. Notes of black fruit, plum, violet, garrigue, and tapenade define the nose, while the palate is dense, structured, and refined, balancing power with elegance. A wine of great character, built to age for at least 10 years. Rated 92/100 by the Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested in 15kg openwork crates. Vinification of 70% de-stemmed grapes and 30% whole grapes. Aged in vats for 7 months.

Color:

Intense and deep ruby red.

Nose:

Beautiful aromas of plum and violet with notes of garrigue and black olive.

Palate:

A dense, concentrated structure with powerful depth and richness. Beautiful aromas of ripe plum and violet, complemented by notes of wild herbs and black olive.

Temperature:

Serve at 14 to 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Stewed meat, country-style pâté, stuffed capon, pork tenderloin with sage.

A story like no other. Rooted in Visan for four generations, Domaine de l’Argentière underwent a complete transformation in 2022.

Driven by a vision for terroir-driven winemaking, Stéphanie Cave and Johan Bartholin—who trained with some of France’s most esteemed vintners (Pierre-Jean Villa, Alphonse Mellot, Stéphane Sérol, Henry Pellé) and gained experience abroad—chose to refocus on a select few hectares of their family vineyard.

The result? Authentic, living wines, crafted with organic farming and a deep respect for nature, embodying the purest expression of their terroir.
