A true master of Spanish winemaking, Juan Antonio Ponce elevates Manchuela with wines of remarkable freshness and purity. Simply put—no one vinifies Bobal better than he does! Trained alongside Telmo Rodriguez, he took over his father’s vineyards in 2004 and has since been crafting wines of striking clarity and authenticity.

Spotted by Robert Parker from his very first vintages, he has proven that this region can produce outstanding wines through organic farming and the revival of native grape varieties, all while working with exceptionally old vines.
