Wine:

The 2021 Bierzo Ultreia Valtuille Red, rated 97/100 by Parker, showcases remarkable elegance. Aged in large oak casks — including, for the first time, some new oak — the wine reveals the full depth of its fruit, while the tannins reflect the finesse of these sandy, limestone soils. This vintage is slightly more concentrated and has a greater influence from its oak aging than usual, but its balance and delicate structure remain intact. A wine of true craftsmanship.

Vinification:

Harvested by hand. Maceration and ageing for 12 to 15 months in casks. No fining or filtration. Bottled on the estate.

Color:

Bright crimson red, with some violet highlights.

Nose:

Fresh and expressive, with complex, almost jammy red and black fruit aromas, revealing spicy, liquorice and leather notes.

Palate:

The palate opens with a beautiful freshness, leading into a complexity that defines this cuvée. It has perfect balance, with delicately wrapped tannins and a stunningly persistent finish.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Thick-cut beef ribs, duck breast with candied figs, sautéed veal with black olives, roast free-range poultry.
