Wine:

An exceptional Sauternes, the 2004 Château Suduiraut offers beautiful flavors of citrus and ripe fruits with a touch of bitterness, typical of the estate. It’s also a tribute to the Sémillon grape, with a richly concentrated sweetness, soft honeyed notes, praline, and a delightful hint of spice. The long finish, with zesty lemon, seems endless, and the balance is impeccable. After 20 years of patience, it reveals itself as sublime and incredibly fresh. A refined Sauternes, perfect with spiced dishes, Roquefort, or even lemon meringue pie.

Vinification:

Meticulously hand-harvested from September 29 to November 4. Aged 50% in new barrels and 50% in barrels that previously held wine for 16 months.
Residual sugars: 134 g/l (sweet wine).

Color:

Intense golden yellow with amber highlights, luminous.

Nose:

Delicate and subtle, with magnificent complexity and notes of beeswax, honey, candied fruit and dried apricot, underlined by a spicy touch of cinnamon and saffron.

Palate:

Rich and smooth, the palate opens with expressive flavors of yellow peach and candied orange, leading to a long, lingering finish and impressive concentration.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Foie gras, pineapple carpaccio, tarte tatin, blue-veined cheeses (Roquefort, Fourme d'Ambert, etc.)

Cellar aging:

From now until 2030

One of the defining names of Sauternes, Château Suduiraut, a Premier Grand Cru Classé, stands as a beacon of excellence within the appellation. Meticulous vineyard management and its exceptional terroir of gravel and clay produce wines of remarkable stature, balancing finesse with an expressive aromatic profile. Often more robust than its peers, Suduiraut is renowned for its exquisite complexity and refinement, qualities that only deepen with age.

As one of the few estates capable of leveraging the diversity of its parcels, akin to Yquem, Suduiraut crafts wines of intricate character and extraordinary richness. With time, these wines transcend to brilliance, achieving a level of artistry that is truly unparalleled.
