Wine:

The 2012 Vintage Chardonnay Pinot Noir delivers a precise, flavorful, first-rate piece of music. Notes of blond tobacco, freshly cut hay and honeysuckle, followed by baked apple, pecan and crème brûlée, mingle in a fresh, delicate, high-volume framework. Nuanced, complex and refined, this low dosage cuvée (extra-brut) reconciles richness and refinement. It's a gourmet champagne to be reserved for scallops with truffles or poached poultry, and can be kept for around twenty years.

Harvested by hand.

Dosage: 4g/L

Color:

Bright pale yellow, fine string of bubbles.

Nose:

Aromas of honeysuckle mixed with notes of light tobacco, freshly cut hay, then baked apple and crème brulée.

Dense, complex and nuanced, this refined cuvée is best reserved for fine dining.

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Noix de Saint-Jacques à la truffe, volaille pochée.

From now until 2040.

It's the union of two giants: Champagne's Thiénot and Australia's Penfolds. A summit alliance that brings together the talent of two houses, two styles, but one and the same vision of excellence.
Penfolds was fully involved in the creation of this exceptional cuvée, a blend of chardonnay and pinot noir from the 2012 vintage. A landmark year for Champagne, promised to long ageing and a great future. Peter Gago, winemaker at Penfolds, and the Maison Thiénot teams have achieved a feat here, a champagne of great evidence, complex and forward-looking.
