Wine:
Lavishly indulgent, the 2018 white Alsace Grand Cru Pinot Gris Sommerberg Vendanges Tardives is a remarkable wine in terms of density. Its golden hue is an enchantment, and the caressing nose of warm aromas of mirabelle plum jam and smoke, ordered around a pretty confit, equally engaging. The silky texture and harmonious resonance of its flavors complete the picture in the most beautiful way; notes of speck, smoked ham, plum and stone fruit come to the fore, in exceptional smoothness, a beautiful fullness of mouth. A great liquoreux that deserves time, to be left to age quietly before pairing with a mirabelle plum soufflé. A Committee favorite, rated 95/100.Vinification:
