Wine:

The 2021 White Alsace Grand Cru Riesling Engelberg comes from a 1.60-hectare parcel originally planted with Riesling and a bit of Gewurztraminer. The exceptionally pure nose showcases the minerality of a great terroir—both floral and precise. On the palate, it unfolds pure, saline flavors with great minerality; this is a gastronomic wine, perfect with noble fish dishes in a lightly lemony beurre blanc or creamy poultry. It has a long aging potential ahead! Rated 94/100 by RVF and by the Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested on October 29, 2021. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Long ageing on fine lees until bottling in summer 2023. Residual sugar: 2.9 g/l.
Engelberg: la montagne des anges, terroir classified as Grand Cru, stony clay-limestone soil, oolitic limestone bedrock from the Middle Jurassic, south-facing.

Certified organic wine.

Color:

Bright pale yellow.

Nose:

Very pure, beautiful minerality of a great terroir, floral notes, precise.

Palate:

On the palate, the wine is pure and saline, with great minerality and a certain dryness, making it the ideal gastronomic wine. It should age well for at least 10 years.

Serve between 10 and 12°C in a large glass.

Food and wine pairing:

Noble lake and river fish with a lightly lemony beurre blanc, féra à la meunière, creamy asparagus risotto, creamed poultry.

From now until 2034, and even longer for enthusiasts.
