The 2018 Côte Madeleine Saint-Emilion Grand Cru skillfully balances the warmth of the vintage with precision and harmony. The ripe Merlots show beautifully, with notes of licorice and balsamic. Despite the richness and opulence of the year, the wine remains well-structured, offering a balanced, elegant, medium-bodied profile. It’s ready to drink now, with the potential to age gracefully for another 10 years.

Vinification:

Hand-picked from September 25 to October 6, 2017. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, maceration for 3 to 4 weeks. Aged for 12 to 14 months in barrels in an air-conditioned cellar (50% new wood & 50% one wine).

Color:

Deep garnet red.

Nose:

Typical Merlot aromas marked by balsamic and licorice notes.

Palate:

Rich and opulent with full, concentrated flavors, this medium-bodied cuvée reveals a refined and balanced structure, beautifully shaped by the warm vintage.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Entrecôte Bordelaise, roast squab with shallots, leg of venison, Fourme de Montbrison.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2033.
