Once again, it is one of the highlights of the vintage! Château Beau-Séjour Bécot excels in the Primeurs, offering sublime fullness and depth. Awarded an impressive 96-98/100 by Parker, this wine delivers a brilliant and ultra-fine juice, carried by superb freshness to a saline finish that is truly enchanting. This cru sets another milestone in the world of great wines and will leave a lasting impression.
Located on the limestone plateau west of the magical city of Saint-Emilion, Château Beau-Séjour Bécot - Premier Grand Cru Classé - overlooks the slope with its 16.5 hectares. The change of consultant, introduced with the 2018 vintage (Thomas Duclot), has refined the estate's style, with whole-cluster fermentation becoming more widespread, giving the wines a more infused and smoother interpretation of the terroir. Additionally, reduced new oak usage has shifted the focus towards more floral and fruity expressions, favoring larger barrels and amphoras.
Juliette Bécot has once again been inspired this year, and the vintage—the first vinified in the fully operational new winery—ensures the cru's direction towards even greater depth and freshness in the tannins, supported by massal selection replanting of Cabernet Franc at the top (23% of the blend).
This wine is undeniably one of the must-haves of this Primeurs campaign and might even surpass the excellent 2022, according to Parker...
