A rising star to watch! Owned by the Garcin-Cathiard family, Château Haut-Bergey has undergone a transformation, producing wines using organic and biodynamic farming since the 2018 vintage. The 43-hectare vineyard allows for careful selection of the grapes, vinified with aging potential in mind and matured in a variety of vessels, including Bordeaux barrels, large foudres, and clay jars. The estate now rivals the classified crus of Pessac-Léognan and firmly holds its place among them! It’s a name to reckon with in Pessac!

In the 2023 vintage, rated 94/100 by Olivier Poussier, the estate innovates by prioritizing aging without traditional barrels, instead using stainless steel tanks, concrete eggs, 30-hectoliter foudres, and amphorae. Additionally, the blend is based on a high proportion of Cabernets (53% Sauvignon and 27% Franc), resulting in a delicious 2023 vintage, full of fruity aromas, black fruit, floral notes, and menthol. Perfectly executed, Haut-Bergey unfolds with softness, showcasing magnificent tannic finesse, a texture infused with great freshness, and an elegant, vibrant, and slender development.

A delightful renewal, praised by Olivier Poussier who rates it 94/100 and places it on par with Carmes Haut-Brion: "It is certainly one of the most delicate wines of the appellation alongside Carmes."
