Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, with its mature, elegant style, continues to shine among the stars of Saint-Julien. Year after year, the vineyard's success has been unstinting, and the wines have continued to grow in stature. Bruno Borie's astute management and the excellence of the terroir have put the estate in an ideal position to produce wines of almost magical formal perfection, with no concessions to international taste.
The estate's latest creation, Le Petit Ducru, comes from a historic selection of Saint-Julien vineyards, 25 hectares purchased in 1972 by Jean-Eugène Borie and previously known under the Lalande-Borie label. A sensitive invitation to approach the qualities of its predecessor, this wine follows in its footsteps, with an obvious family resemblance and an obvious connivance with the estate's wines, which benefit from the same care.
Complexity, balance and elegance are all present, in a more immediate approach, so we're looking forward to tasting it soon. Among the best value for money in its appellation. A sublime opportunity, a cult signature!
