Wine:

Powerful and generous, the 2022 Red Meursault Vieilles Vignes evokes the elegance of a fine Volnay, reflecting its neighbouring terroir and concentrated structure. The nose reveals warm, ripe Pinot Noir aromas, while the palate follows with a bold profile, layered in a tightly knit texture that retains remarkable freshness and finesse. Perfect for leisurely enjoyment over the next eight years, it has been awarded an impressive 93/100 by the Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Destemming, transfer to vats, fermentation in open vats for 25 to 30 days, cold pre-fermentation for 4 to 5 days, 1 punching of the cap and 2 pump-overs per day. Aged in oak barrels, 20% of which are new, for 12 months.
Plot of 0.56 ha, planted from 1972 to 1995, clay-limestone soil.

Palate:

Generous and expressive, this cuvée reveals the richness of concentrated Pinot Noir, with warm notes of perfectly ripe red fruits. The palate is powerful and structured, offering a concentrated core, firm texture, and a balanced freshness that enhances its natural elegance.

Temperature:

Decant and serve between 14 and 16°C in a large glass.

Fillet of beef with wine sauce, roast duck with porcini mushrooms, guinea fowl stuffed with chestnuts, farmhouse veal chop with mushrooms, matured Saint-Nectaire cheese.
