Wine:

Bordering the La Tâche terroir from the lower part of the parcel, the 2021 red Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes is a very pure wine, a fine and ripe Pinot Noir that's quintessentially Vosne. The oak is present, and the wine is still very young, but it's enriched with very elegant tannins. It's a wine to start opening in 2025 and then to enjoy leisurely over the next ten years. Rated 94/100 by the Committee.

Vinification:

Hand-harvested, totally destemmed, 12 to 14-day vatting period.
Free-run wine and first press are blended, settled and put into barrels. Aged in barrels, with 35% new wood, for 15 to 18 months.

Color:

Intense, brilliant red with vermilion highlights.

Nose:

Beautifully mature Pinot Noir, pure and infused, very typical of Vosne-Romanée.

Palate:

Young and delicious, with round flavors of fruit, this cuvée boasts fine, elegant tannins and a oaky juice that just needs to mellow further.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Spit-roasted free-range poultry, beef cheek with pinot noir, veal sweetbreads, duck breast with morel mushrooms, mature Burgundy cheeses.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2038, and even longer for enthusiasts.

A surefire address in the Côte d'Or, Domaine d'Ardhuy uniquely boasts vineyards evenly distributed between the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits. The range produced here, following biodynamic practices, consistently offers an accurate expression of its terroirs, featuring memorable grand crus and premier crus, including the famous Clos des Langres, a 3-hectare monopole.

These rare and precious bottles are highly sought after by enthusiasts and represent the pinnacle of the Burgundian hierarchy.
