Wine:

The 2022 white Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru La Croix is located in the commune of Aloxe Corton, beneath the Croix de Corton, an early-exposure southeast-facing area. Carried by 100% new demi-muids barrels, it unveils a tremendous scope, a lively and taut juice, full of vitality, stretching over flinty notes into a fresh and saline finish. A truly exceptional wine for cellaring, best enjoyed at the table.

Vinification:

Hand-harvested, vinified and aged in 456-litre barrels for 12 months, 100% of which are new, then in stainless-steel vats for 5 months.

Color:

Bright, clear golden yellow.

Nose:

Notes of gunflint mixed with yellow and white fruit fragrances.

Palate:

This full-bodied cuvée offers a lively, taut, fresh and finely saline juice, with a scope that's ideal for ageing and should be enjoyed at the table.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Lobster stew, braised sweetbreads, veal steak with morel mushrooms.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2034, and even longer for enthusiasts.

Son of Vincent Girardin, Pierre Girardin crafts top-notch cuvées on his personal domain that showcase all the refinement of Burgundy. Whether in Meursault, Pommard, or Corton, his success is evident, with his wines expressing the utmost delicacy, infused with a style never overly influenced by aging.

We were among the first to recognize his talent and establish strong relationships; Olivier Poussier already sees him as a great winemaker and readily compares him to Jean-Marie Guffens...
