Wine:

Produced from a 45-acre plot adjoining Les Griottes, planted in 1956, the 2021 red Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is a "true" Charmes, very charming, full of beautiful aromas of black fruit and spices, and perfectly managed in its woodiness, with a beautiful tension on the finish. A racy, extremely subtle wine with 20+ years of aging potential. Among the greats of Burgundy! Rated 96/100 by the committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested from this plot, which is part of the Griottes Chambertin appellation. Vinification with indigenous yeasts. Aged 18 months in oak barrels, 40% of which are new.

Color:

Bright ruby-red with garnet highlights.

Nose:

Intensely fragrant with black and red fruit aromas and a delicate spicy structure.

Palate:

Full, elegant palate with bright fruit. With a clean, muscular structure, this wine enjoys a superb balance between concentrated, velvety sap and a long, persistent finish.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Coq au vin, venison, wild boar, washed-rind Burgundy cheeses.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2043 and beyond for enthusiasts.
