Wine:
The 2018 red IGT Toscana Soldera Case Basse, aged for 45 months in barrels, showcases a remarkable depth of character. This vintage holds a special place as it's the last one crafted by Gianfranco Soldera himself before his passing in 2019. The wine beautifully encapsulates the estate's signature style, unfolding layers of blackcurrant, red fruits, floral notes, and a hint of blood orange. Renowned for its exceptional finesse, which has become a model for Italy's new wave of winemaking, this wine stands as a timeless and rare gem, offering an experience that transcends the ordinary. It's a wine that should be savored at least once, for its singular character and enduring legacy.Vinification:
The winemaking process involves manual harvesting and the exclusive use of indigenous yeasts. The spontaneous fermentation takes place over two weeks in large truncated cone-shaped Slavonian oak vats, with temperature control implemented. This is followed by racking and a natural malolactic fermentation lasting about three weeks. The wine is then aged for 44 months in Slavonian oak barrels (from the region of Croatia). Bottling is done on the estate, without fining or filtration. Finally, the wine matures for six months in the cellar before being released for sale. This meticulous process highlights the natural characteristics of the wine and ensures its high quality.Color:

Case Basse di Gianfranco Soldera is among the world's most coveted estates. Unencumbered by unnecessary pretension, its wines mirror its character: delicate, subtle, intense, marvels of finesse revealing endless aromatic nuances.
In the Brunello di Montalcino terroir, it stands nearly peerless. Here, Sangiovese attains a new dimension, defying all rational explanation. Thus, the great wine is born, transcending numerical constraints, in complete harmony. Merely 10 hectares of vineyards make up this unique cuvée, Soldera. A wine born from volcanic soil, at an altitude of 350 meters, classified as IGT Toscana since the 2006 vintage.
