Case Basse di Gianfranco - Soldera IGT Toscana - Soldera - Red - 2019

Wine:

After 45 months of aging in barrels, the 2019 Red IGT Toscana Soldera Case Basse reveals a sumptuous density. This vintage is also significant as it’s the first produced without Gianfranco Soldera, who sadly passed away in his vineyards in February of that year. However, his family—Graziella, Monica, Paolo, Mauro, and Valeria—continues to manage the estate. True to the estate’s style and Gianfranco's vision, this wine once again showcases an exquisite array of aromas and delicacy. Its remarkable finesse has become a benchmark for the new wave of Italian winemaking, living up to the myth of Soldera. This unique, rare, and timeless wine transcends trends and is a must-try at least once in a lifetime.

Vinification:

Manual harvesting. 100% indigenous yeasts. Spontaneous fermentation for two weeks in large, truncated-cone-shaped Slavonian oak vats of over 100 hl, with temperature control. Followed by racking and natural malolactic fermentation lasting about three weeks, then aging for 44 months in Slavonian oak barrels (from Croatia). Bottled at the estate, with no fining or filtration. A further six months of maturation in the cellar before release.

Color:

Intense, dark garnet red.

Nose:

Intensely complex, featuring red and black fruits accented by hints of spice and licorice.

Palate:

With impeccable finesse, this cuvée presents a delicate structure defined by smooth tannins. Year after year, its elegance remains consistent.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.
