Wine:

The 2022 white Arbois Chardonnay , aged in barrels, is a remarkable blend of liveliness and indulgence. This wine combines minerality, tension, and freshness with richly expressive fruit. Notes of yellow-fleshed fruit, white flowers, and anise intertwine in a rounded yet precise structure, offering beautiful persistence. A quintessential Chardonnay from clay-limestone soils.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Pressed 100% whole grapes in a pneumatic press. Spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts and aged for 12 months on fine lees 75% in barrels and foudres and 25% in stainless-steel vats, then 6 months in stainless-steel vats. Production of 18,000 bottles.
Localities: Gaillard, Les Loges, La Bouthière, La Vasée, Le Clouzot, Fertans (Montigny), la Teppes aux loups, la Besivette (Arbois). Jura clay, limestone and marl soils. Vines planted between 1953 and 2018 and cultivated organically, undergoing certification since 2020.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C in a large glass.

Aperitif, cheese gougères, pike quenelles with crayfish sauce, salmon en croûte, fish terrine, Comté cheese.

From now until 2030, and beyond for enthusiasts.

The Fumey-Chatelain estate, an artisanal estate in Montigny-lès-Arsures near Arbois, has become a favorite among Jura wine enthusiasts. Known for its exciting cuvées that naturally and elegantly express the Arbois identity, this estate is a must-visit for wine lovers.

Now managed by Marin Fumey, the son, and practicing organic viticulture, the vineyard is making remarkable strides. This year, it made a notable entry in the RVF Guide, recognized for its wines that exude clarity and cheerfulness, crafted from ripe, noble grapes.
