Domaine Denis Jeandeau - Mâcon-Verzé - Blanc - 2020

Wine:

The 2020 white Mâcon-Verzé showcases the hallmark of a beautifully accomplished and mastered Chardonnay. The nose is very ripe, with notes of orgeat, almond, and wildflowers, pure and balanced. The palate follows suit, being full-bodied and mineral, with a tangy trail that adds tension. The understated aging complements this rather generous ensemble. A fine creation that fully characterizes the sunny 2020 vintage, with a potential to age for five to eight years.

Nose:

Beautifully mature, oscillating between notes of orgeat, almond and wild flowers.

Palate:

Full-bodied and mineral, with round fruit, this cuvée has a tangy aftertaste, with pure, balanced, generous juice and restrained, controlled ageing.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Skate wings with cream sauce, veal blanquette with coconut milk, poultry bouchées à la reine.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2028, and even longer for enthusiasts.

Adored by top Michelin-starred chefs, Denis Jeandeau had become a phenomenon. Renowned restaurants like Régis Marcon, Le Pré Catelan, Lameloise, l'Arpège, l'Ambroisie, and Guy Savoy, to name just a few, featured his wines on their menus. Justifiably awarded two stars in the Guide RVF for several years, he was considered one of the greatest talents of his generation.

We were deeply shocked by his sudden passing this summer. Over the years, he had become a friend and close associate of Ventealapropriete.

In light of our relationship built from his early days, we were deeply honored to be entrusted by his family with the distribution of the last bottles he produced.
