Wine:

Selected by Olivier Poussier, World's Best Sommelier, the 2022 white Vin de France Chardonnay opens with a lovely freshness, maintaining a true varietal character. It favors balance on the palate, with richness well-supported by a tonic acidity and fine bitters. The mid-palate highlights the vintage's richness but without heaviness, respecting the creamy aspect of Chardonnay, making it completely unifying. A perfectly crafted, digestible, and delightful white, best enjoyed within the year.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Aged 80% in barrels and 20% in stainless steel vats.

Color:

Pale golden yellow with brilliant reflections.

Nose:

Intense, typical Chardonnay aromas. Delicate notes of apricot and flowers mingled with a perfectly integrated, finely toasted woodiness reveal themselves on aeration.

Palate:

The fresh, full-bodied structure combines precision and roundness in this remarkably dense wine. A guaranteed moment of pleasure.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Aperitif, seafood, fish, white meats.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2028, and even longer for enthusiasts.

Verget, a trusted name in Burgundy, is one of the estates we particularly cherish and with whom we've established strong relationships. We've even collaborated to create custom blends, assembled by Olivier Poussier, exclusively for our members.

Julien Desplans, following in Jean-Marie Guffens' footsteps, continues to uphold the Burgundian style in the south of France, producing whites with finely crafted, lean, and very fresh profiles, as well as equally successful, fruit-forward reds.
