Wine:

Originating from the fine terroirs of Ampuis, nestled between the Côte Blonde and Côte Brune, the 2021 red Côte Rôtie Prélude commands respect with a perfect balance between maturity and aging. It's a lovely Syrah, with scents of black fruit and spices, featuring fresh tannins and a smoky finish, and sophisticated aging that will easily carry it through the next 5 to 6 years.

Vinification:

Hand-harvested, totally destemmed.
Aged for 20 months in barrels, including 10% new barrels and 90% one- to four-wine barrels.

Color:

Bright, intense red.

Nose:

Black fruit aromas mixed with spicy notes.

Palate:

Beautifully mature, with sophisticated ageing, this cuvée releases juice with fresh tannins and a smoky finish.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Grilled or simmered red meats, prime rib, entrecôte au poivre.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2030.
