Wine:

Crafted entirely from Grenache Noir, the 2021 Red Châteauneuf-du-Pape Chaupin offers vibrant flavors of stone fruits, rosewood, and gentle spices. This wine charms with its balance and elegance, delivering a refined texture and sap-driven finesse, all while showcasing a more restrained power compared to sunnier vintages. Exceptionally graceful and flavorful, it can be enjoyed in its youth and will continue to evolve beautifully over the next decade. Rated 94/100 by RVF.

Vinification:

Hand harvested and sorted on the vine. 80% de-stemming, 26-day maceration with daily manual punching of the cap. Aged for 12 months, 2/3 in foudres and 1/3 in demi-muids (600 liters).

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C in a large glass.

Food and wine pairing:

Stuffed duckling, barbecued prime rib, Provençal rack of veal.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2034.

A jewel of the southern Rhône Valley and awarded 2 stars in the RVF Guide, Domaine de la Janasse is a highly sought-after estate renowned for its exceptional consistency. The Sabon family tends it with passion, crafting remarkable wines across both Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes-du-Rhône.

Here, excellence is the standard. Every cuvée reflects meticulous care in the vineyard and cellar, supported by an exceptional patchwork of parcels and a remarkable heritage of vines.

With perfectly achieved ripeness, the wines offer power, finesse, and impressive freshness. They are a favorite of Olivier Poussier, Best Sommelier in the World and a member of our Tasting Committee!
