Wine:

Pure Marsanne, the 2020 white Ermitage Le Méal is made from vines that are over 50 years old and still yield a confidential production. It is a parcel selection from the eponymous hillside on very old alluvial soils covered with pebbles, vinified partly in wood in large containers. Without doubt the most complex of all the lieux-dits, a monster of richness and finesse combined, very intense, it delivers the quintessence of the great whites of the Rhone Valley; a wine of high gastronomy marked by yellow fruits and a long finish on zest. Rated 96/100 by Parker.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, whole grapes pressed, vinification 50% in new demi-muids and 50% in vats, aged 100% in barrels with stirring between 10 and 12 months.

Organic and Biodynamic wine, certified by Demeter.

Color:

Bright, light golden yellow.

Nose:

Fresh, carried by aromas of yellow fruits and lemon notes.

Palate:

Just like the nose, this wine delivers a fresh and fruity juice, with a rich and complex structure and an intense and persistent finish.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Scallops on a bed of leeks, veal kidneys, poached poultry with cream.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2040.
