Domaine Melody - Crozes-Hermitage - Friandise - Red - 2023

Wine:

Made from 100% Syrah, the 2023 Red Crozes-Hermitage Friandise is a vibrant, fruit-forward wine, vinified and aged without any oak influence. The grapes reach perfect ripeness while maintaining a fresh profile, highlighted by subtle smoky and bacon-like notes. On the palate, its sleek, juicy texture delivers a crisp and lively expression of Syrah—light, approachable, and irresistibly drinkable. Best enjoyed young, it’s the perfect companion for charcuterie, pâté en croûte, or roast poultry at the start of a meal.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Vines aged 10 to 30 years, in the locality of Les 7 Chemins. Total destemming. Cold pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation in concrete and stainless steel vats thermoregulated at a maximum of 26°C, pumping over morning and evening. Wine stays in vat for 2 to 3 weeks. Aged for 10 months in concrete and stainless steel vats.

Bright carmine red.

Nose:

A mature syrah with a fresh profile and lovely smoky bacon notes.

Palate:

The palate is sleek, precise, and vibrant, with crisp texture and juicy red fruit flavors. This Syrah is fresh and light, meant to be enjoyed young for its lively, approachable character.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Cured meats, pâté en croûte, roast poultry, grilled spare ribs.

Cellar aging:

From today until 2027.
