Wine:
The 2022 Red Côte-Rôtie Améthyste is the purest expression of the estate’s signature style. A blend of parcels from both Côte Brune and Côte Blonde, it benefits from careful ageing that highlights the juiciness of the fruit while unlocking its full potential. This refined wine is expansive and subtly saline, with a precise profile, impressive length, and elegant tannins. A splendid Côte-Rôtie, perfect for those discovering the appellation.Vinification:
Hand harvested from 26 August to 3 September 2022. Partial destemming, temperature-controlled fermentation for 3 weeks. Aged for 24 months in 600-litre oak barrels, 10% of which are new.Production of 8,000 bottles.
100% Syrah, old serine, massal selection for 20 years. 4.5 hectares of terraced vines in 9 different localities in Ampuis: Mollard, Côte Blonde, Côte Brune, Chavaroche, Landonne, Baleyat, Truchet, Fongeant and Leyat. The vines are 50 years old on average (more than half are 60 years old).
