Wine:

The 2020 red Napa Valley Altagracia exudes spices, dried flowers, and black fruits. This symphony of flavors unfolds in an ultra-juicy, fresh, and well-defined structure, all while showcasing elegance and delicacy. This is supreme refinement, far removed from the standard or preconceived notions one might have about Californian wines. Here, we see a very high level of expertise and enhancement of the location! Rated 92-94/100 by Parker.

Vinification:

Hand-picked from September 10 to 24, 2020. Fermentation in vats, with gentle, balanced extraction thanks to the excellent level of ripeness of the skins and pips. Aged for 18 months in a combination of French oak barrels (90%) and Austrian oak foudres (10%). Very limited production.
Certified organic by CCOF and biodynamic by Demeter.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C in a large glass.

Food and wine pairing:

Grilled beef, shallot bavette, roast duckling with melting potatoes, venison noisette with pepper or royal sauce, grilled ribs with paprika sauce.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2038, and even longer for enthusiasts.

Araujo Estates Wines stands as one of the jewels of Napa Valley. Cherished by Domaines Artémis (Pinault family) for the past decade, this vineyard consistently produces some of the greatest wines in the region.

The estate is named after its historic 15-hectare plot, "Eisele Vineyard," which was planted with Cabernet Sauvignon in 1964. Since then, Eisele Vineyard has become one of the iconic estates in California, sought after by enthusiasts and consistently adored by Parker, who awards it the highest ratings.

Its limestone soils, cooler climate, and parcel layout akin to a Bordeaux vineyard create cuvées that stand out uniquely in the American wine landscape.
