Wine:

Riding on the success of the Médoc vintage, the 2018 red Saint-Estèphe de Calon Ségur is both complete and amiable. A harmonious blend of black and red fruits, spice from the oak, and a hint of licorice forms a well-established aromatic profile. The palate is meaty and juicy, with fruit that maintains its freshness and vitality. This wine is vinous and pronounced, with a solid structure of tannins that add depth and breadth to its well-built frame.

Vinification:

Harvested by hand. Alcoholic fermentation for 18 to 21 days in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless-steel vats.
Aged 14 months in 3-wine barrels.

Color:

Deep crimson red.

Nose:

Abundant red and black fruit notes mixed with woody, liquorice notes associated with ageing.

Palate:

Full-bodied and well-structured, with full-bodied fruit, this cuvée delivers fleshy, full-bodied juice, with firm tannins and beautiful relief.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Noble cuts of butcher's beef, 7-hour leg of lamb, duck confit and pommes sarladaises, roast quail, game, Saint-Nectaire.

From now until 2032.
