Wine:

The 2021 Red Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a beautifully balanced blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Mourvèdre, sourced from 50-year-old vines and aged for one year in 228-litre Burgundy barrels, with no new oak. Enhanced by the freshness of the vintage, it delivers a harmonious interplay of delicate spice, cherry liqueur, floral notes, and the richness of perfectly ripened flavours, all woven into a fine, intense, and elegant structure. A delightful wine to enjoy now, with the balance to age gracefully. Awarded 92/100 by the Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested from 50-year-old vines. Vinification in concrete vats. Matured for 12 months in Burgundy barrels.

Color:

Intense, brilliant red with garnet highlights.

Nose:

Aromas reminiscent of stone fruit, with dominant notes of cherries and kirsch.

Palate:

A Grenache-driven wine with impressive depth, seamlessly integrated ageing, and an overall refined profile.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Hare stew with red wine reduction, roast duck, beef cheek confit with mushrooms.
