Wine:

Dominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, Les 2017 red Forts de Latour presents itself with elegance and balance. It's a perfect Pauillac, in a classic style, benefiting from a fresh and tense vintage, which imparts typical notes of plum, cassis, and graphite from the region. The structured framework maintains great finesse, with flavors of blackberry and spices, firm tannins, and above all, superb freshness and a long finish. Rated 93/100 by Parker and 94/100 by RVF and B+D.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats for around 3 weeks. Aged in French oak barrels, 50-60% of which are new.
The entire Château Latour vineyard has been in conversion to Organic Agriculture by Ecocert since 2015, with Organic certification issued by Ecocert as of the 2018 vintage. At the same time, biodynamic principles are applied to the majority of l'Enclos.

Color:

Red with good intensity and brightness.

Nose:

Notes of plum and blackcurrant mingled with graphite.

Palate:

Elegant and well-structured, this wine has a very fine structure, with blackberry and spice flavors, firm tannins and, above all, superb freshness and a long, persistent finish.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Roast veal with porcini mushrooms, chateaubriand with morel mushrooms, herb-crusted rack of lamb, duck confit and Sarlat potatoes.

A majestic estate in Pauillac, Château Latour holds a unique position among the Grands Crus Classés. Known for its unparalleled consistency, this Premier Grand Cru Classé remains at the pinnacle of its craft each year, continually pushing the boundaries of refinement and excellence. Unlike its peers, the château has stepped away from Bordeaux's En Primeur system, choosing instead to age its wines at the estate and only release them when they have reached optimal maturity.

Under the stewardship of owner François Pinault and managing director Frédéric Engerer, Château Latour not only maintains its commitment to excellence and biodynamic practices but also embodies a distinctive approach to winegrowing, ensuring that each vintage is offered at the perfect moment.
