Wine:

The usual mellowness of the vintage bursts forth in the 2016 Réserve de la Comtesse, carried by a deep, agile texture. Close to its prime, made from a majority Cabernet Sauvignon, it unfolds beautiful cherry, black currant and dark berry notes, with flavors of rose, black tea, pepper and chocolate.  A very elegant and intense wine, with silky tannins, that combines freshness and density with a spicy finish that makes it absolutely delicious. On this vintage bordering on perfection, the second wine is boosted by its formidable balance...A wine destined to fame!

Vinification:

Fermentation in stainless steel tanks, aged for 12 months in barrels, 30% of which are new. Second wine of the Château.

Intense and brilliant purple color.

Nose:

Notes of cherry, black currant and dark berries, with flavors of rose, black tea, pepper and chocolate.

Palate:

Silky and elegant with agile tannins, this wine combines freshness and density with a mellow side enhanced by a beautiful spicy finish.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Lamb roasted with herbs, ceps à la bordelaise, venison in sauce, beef filet Rossini.

At its inception, the 2016 vintage was already described as grandiose. A few years later, having reached a beautiful evolution, it displays a high class character, destined for long aging.

This vintage required patience and kept the suspense until the end before revealing its magnificence! A vintage of elegance and balance, with ripe tannins and fresh and dynamic textures.
