Château Olivier, a splendid estate on the outskirts of Bordeaux, is one of Pessac-Léognan's not-to-be-missed estates. Its privileged setting, surrounded by woods and forests, goes hand in hand with a demand for quality, and this Grand Cru Classé always offers complex, precise and delicious wines, faithful reflections of their terroir.
Now organically farmed, the cru has undergone profound changes, with a complete overhaul of the style of its white wines: renewal of the vineyard, massal selection of Semillon from Château Guiraud (Cru Classé de Sauternes), ageing using barrels, "wine globes" (glass) and 600 liters, and a minimum of 75% Sauvignon Blanc in the blend.
A Cru Classé in both red and white, Château Olivier 2023 shines with crystalline purity, the sharpness of a Sauvignon (80%) with a strong zest for grapefruit. With a firm palate and a long, lemony flavor, this harmonious wine will age well, rated 92-93/100 RVF.
It's one of Pessac-Léognan's greatest assets!
