Buoyed by an early vintage with a fine constitution, the 2018 red Gevrey-Chambertin Les Marchais is already fully delivering all its ripe black fruit flavors. Rich and generous without excess, this refined Pinot plays on a seductive register, in line with the great 2009s. This small, iron-rich parcel of just over one hectare suits it well, supporting its structure and fully revealing its aromas. A very fine bottle, which can be drunk young or kept for a few more years.Vinification:
Hand harvested, daily punching of the cap, 19-day vatting period, aged 14 months in French oak barrels (20-30% new), then 2 months in stainless steel tanks.Color:
